BassCats heading to state competition

The Bainbridge Bass Cats have some things to be proud of. Next week, fifteen teams will be traveling to Clarks Hill Lake to fish in the Georgia Bass Nation High School State Classic.

Qualifying anglers were required to fish at least three of the eight state qualifier tournaments and obtain a qualifying weight in at least one of these tournaments to be able to fish the State Classic. Winners of the State Classic will move onto Nationals which is held on Kentucky Lake in Paris, Tennessee.

The Junior division teams that are state qualified include Andrew Brock/Drew Arthur,  Brennan Enfinger/ Tucker Surratt, Gage Sellars/Brock Lewis, Hayden Reynolds/Caleb Logue, Miles Cundiff/Brody Thomas, Riggs Rentz/Luke Griffin, and Steele Faircloth/Sam Surratt. The Junior Division had 3 first place finishes in the 2018-2019 season. Team Sellars/Lewis finished first in both tournaments held on Lake Seminole and Brennan Enfinger/Sam Surratt placed first on Lake Eufaula. This division had twenty-two top 10 finishes this season. Junior division teams Sellars/Lewis placed second in AOY points while Tyler Godwin/Caden Godwin placed tenth. The Junior division teams will compete in a field of approximately 25 boats.

Approximately 103 boats will make up the Senior division field. The eight Bass Cat Senior division teams that qualified for the State Classic are Ashton Aldridge/Reece Conley, Bowynn Brown/Dylan Brock, Caden Sconyers/Kaleb Varnum, Caleb Reynolds/Lex Thompson, Cuyler Duke/ Bryson Arthur, Garyn King/Cody Lambert, Gunner Thomas/Zach Griffin, and Jackson Conley/Stokes Moore. The Senior division had twelve top 20 placements during the regular season and one tournament win on Lake Seminole by team Reynolds/Thompson. Qualified anglers Bryson Arthur, Cuyler Duke, and Caden Sconyers are recent BHS 2019 graduates.

The Bainbridge Bass Cats will also have one team and two members attending the FLW High School Nationals on Pickwick Lake June 20-22nd. These anglers are Senior division Bass Cats Gabe Dunaway/Hunter Davis, Bowynn Brown, and Jackson Conley.
