Brenda Brooks Wade

Brenda Brooks Wade, 67, of Bainbridge, Ga., formerly of Colquitt, Ga., passed away Friday, May 24, 2019.

The funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Southwest Baptist Church where Rev. Stanley Phillips, Rev. Robert Johns and Rev. William Smith officiated.  A private interment followed at Colquitt Cemetery where Ben Clenney, Kevin Clenney, Rusty Clenney, Wes Clenney, Bruce Kimbrel, Woodie Kirkland and Jason Suggs served as active pallbearers.

Brenda Kay Brooks was born March 14, 1952 in Miller County, Ga., the daughter of Rayburn Lamar and Gwendelyn Clenney Brooks.  Brenda was a graduate of Miller Co. High School and went on to further her education at Free Will Baptist Bible College and Belmont with advanced degrees from Georgia Southwestern and Albany State College.

Brenda worked for the Miller Co. Board of Education as a teacher and retired as a Media Specialist.  She was a member of Southwest Baptist Church.  Brenda was married to her husband, Thomas Edward Wade, for well over 40 years.  She loved spending time with her family and spoiled her grandchildren above all else.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Tommy Wade; her children, Brooks Wade and his wife, Kaycee, of Bainbridge and Beth Wade of Panama City Beach, Fl.; her brother, Donald Brooks and his wife, Tina, of Colquitt, Ga.; and her grandchildren, Brooklyn and Riley.  Brenda was preceded in death by her parents.
