Charlie T. Brock was born October 4, 1931, in Bainbridge, the son of James Lawson Brock and Lottie Mae Ward Brock. He married Frankie Suggs and they made their home in the Pine Hill Community. Charlie was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

A strong work ethic was the foundation for a life that revolved around his family. Charlie worked as a farmer, a contractor and a tile mason before purchasing the Country Store when he was 56 years old. He then added biscuit maker to his resume. In fact, he claims to have made 700 biscuits in one day and customers still ask, “Who made these biscuits?” Charlie loved anything outdoors but especially vegetable gardening, growing fruit trees and muscadines, and mowing yards. He enjoyed traveling and remembered fondly trips to Alaska and Ireland.  Charlie had a great sense of humor and was honest in his opinion so when he said, “I love you”, you knew he meant it.
