The Kiwanis Club of Bainbridge is now accepting Decatur County Man of the Year nominations.

Every year the Kiwanis Club recognizes a man who exemplifies good citizenship through civic activities, contributions to the community and general leadership in Decatur County. The winner is then recognized at the Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet.

Any male 18 years or older is eligible. They should be nominated by someone who is familiar with their efforts to contribute significant time, energy and spirit in fields outside of their professional life without regard to personal gain.

The nominees should be a man whose civic and community service goes beyond “normal” responsibilities, creating a lasting and beneficial impact for all residents. He must have actively participated in service, community, church or other organizations. However, any job- related or duty for which a nominee is paid will not be considered. The service activities mentioned should have been completed in the previous calendar year. Previous winners of the Man of the Year Award are not eligible for another nomination.

Once all nominations are in and have met the criteria, the Kiwanis Club will vote on the nominees and select a winner. All nominees will be recognized at the regular Kiwanis Club, but only the winner will attend the awards banquet. The winner will also be given an honorary membership to the Kiwanis Club of Bainbridge for one year.

To nominate someone, pick up a form and send it to the Kiwanis Club of Bainbridge, P.O. Box 401, Bainbridge, Ga. 39818.
