Lady Cats tennis continues dominant run, Bearcats fall 1-4 to Seminole Co.

Tuesday afternoon the Bearcats and Lady Cats tennis team faced off against Seminole County, where the Lady Cats won with a full sweep of 5-0 and the Bearcats lost 1-4.

Lady Cats number one singles, Sydnee Burke came out strong not giving up a single point to her opponent and winning 6-0, 6-0. Number two singles, Mikey Harrell followed Burke’s lead and won her sets 6-0, 6-0 as well. Number three singles, Gracie Surratt won 6-2, 6-0.

Number one doubles, Bree Powell and Jade Stacey continued to lead the team to success with a score of 6-2, 6-1. Number two doubles, Sarah Caroline Darley and Anna Marie Hall won their sets 6-0, 6-3, before the exhibition matches took place.

Piper Harrell and Kenzie Thomas played doubles in the match and won 8-1, along with Lily Tomek and Ashley Kate Barber who won 8-5.

Bearcats number one singles, Cole Buchanan played a tight set of three, but eventually lost to opponent, Chandler Hinton 6-2, 4-6, 1-0. Number two singles, Austin Aldridge also lost to his opponent, Carson Odom 6-4, 6-3. However, number three singles, Blake Lowe brought in a win for the Bearcats with a score of 6-0, 6-1.

Number one doubles, Brent Miller and Ben Mitchell lost out to Jay Palmer and Preston Drake 1-6, 0-6 and number two doubles, Brad Mitchell and Hayden Martin lost out to Parth Patel and Cartavious Fausion 0-6, 3-6.

The team is hoping for a win on senior night, April 11 and to make a full sweep for both the Lady Cats and Bearcats.
