Wilbur Lee Owens, Sr., age 81, of Donalsonville, Ga., passed away Thursday morning, March 21, 2019 at his residence.

Funeral services for Mr. Owens will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at 3 p.m. at Calvary Assembly of God with Rev. Ted Miller and Rev. Glen Elmore officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Charles Elmore, Ron Ritter, Ron Ritter, Jr., Mike Hutto, Rev. Craig Forist and Christopher Smith serving as active casketbearers.  Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.

Mr. Owens was born in Whigham, Ga. on January 2, 1938, to Alvin Lawrence Owens and Eunice Harrell Owens.  He worked at the Tampa Ship Yard handling maintenance.  Mr. Owens loved fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Marjorie Moore Owens of Donalsonville,; his sons, Wilbur Lee Owens, Jr. (Bonnie) of Chattanooga, Tenn., Clarence Richard Christopher of Donalsonville, Anthony Glenn Christopher of Donalsonville, David Allen Wrenn (Barbara) of Morehaven, Fla.; his daughter, Marie Griffin (Dale) of Donalsonville; his sisters, Doris Wesley of Illinois, Pearl Maxwell of Bainbridge, and Patsy Blair of Bainbridge; and his brother, Tony Page (Theda) of Dublin, Ga. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.

Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Lawrence Owens and Eunice Harrell Owens; two brothers, Cecil Owens and Junior Owens; four children, Tommy Owens, Terry Owens, Elizabeth Owens and Timmy Owens; and one grandson, Joshua Owens.
