Lady Cats tennis continues dominating with sweep

Friday afternoon the Bearcats and Lady Cats tennis team dominated Warner Robins in match play, with the Lady Cats making a full sweep for the second week in a row.

Number one singles, Sydnee Burke came out hot not allowing her opponent to score a single point, winning both sets 6-0, 6-0. Number two and three singles, Mikey Harrell and Gracie Surratt followed Burke’s lead and didn’t give up any points either; both winning their sets 6-0, 6-0.

With the team on fire, number one doubles Jade Stacey and Bree Powell headed into their match, also winning 6-0, 6-0. Number two singles, Sarah Caroline Darley and Anna Marie Hall completed the full sweep, giving up only one point and winning with a final score of 6-0, 6-1.

Seeing the Lady Cats pull off a major victory, the Bearcats were ready to dominate, and they did with a final score of 4-1.

Number one singles, Cole Buchanan played in a tight set of three. He eventually lost in a nail biter with a score of 7-5, 1-6, 0-1. Number two singles, Lawson Humphrey made the comeback winning his sets, 6-2, 6-0, and number three singles, Austin Aldridge brought it home with a double donut win of 6-0, 6-0.

Number one doubles, Ben and Brad Mitchell dominated the court with a win of 6-1, 6-0, while Bren Miller and Robert Bryan Shockley took an automatic win, as their opponents forfeited.

Thursday the team will play at home against TCC with matches beginning at 4 p.m.
