Stevens breaks schools record previously held since 1995

Last week, former Bainbridge swimmer Tara Stevens competed at the GLIAC Conference Championships in Cleveland Ohio for Ashland University Eagles.

On the first day of competition Stevens broke her school’s record in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:29.34 which was held since 1995 with a time of 10:30.20.

She dropped 24.52 seconds to achieve this record.

This was the second best time of the morning session and this gave her a 7th place finish in the event.

She rounded out the championship dropping time in all of her individual events. The 500 freestyle placed 10th with a time of 5:05.97 dropped 9.51 seconds, the mile(1650) in a time of 17:50.19 dropped 23.90 seconds, placed 12th and the 400 IM in a time of 4:42.01 dropped 7.63 seconds, placed 18th.

Tara also swam I the 800 freestyle relay which placed 4th and the 400 freestyle relay which placed 6th.
