The Firehouse Arts Center will offer a one-night Authentic Italian Cooking class called “The Art of Italian Cooking” on Tuesday February 19th from 6-8 P.M. in the Callahan Room kitchen (elevator available)

Local Italian Chef, Jim “The Prince of Pasta” Gisondi, will be the guest instructor. Gisondi has a long history of teaching Italian cooking in Bainbridge since moving here in 2009.

“I began teaching my classes as part of what was then Bainbridge College’s Continuing Education Department,” he explains. “The classes were taught at St. John’s Episcopal Church kitchen, and I have probably taught over 150 people how to incorporate one or two new entrees into their home menus. I want people to learn to do it with really good ingredients, not boxed or frozen foods.”

Gisondi’s Italian dinners for eight are often auctioned off at fundraisers, where many successful bidders have had the joy of experiencing the genuine Italian cuisine prepared by Gisondi in their homes.

The class will be limited to twelve (12) students, reservations must be made. Probable entrees made and consumed will be “Fettuccine Carbonara” and “Linguine Florentine”.

Other possibilities will also be prepared, time permitting.  Additionally, Chef Gisondi suggests that students do not eat supper prior to class. Cost for the evening is $45.Wine will be served.
