Bobby Carol Swords, 63, of 444 North Main Street, Blakely, Ga., passed away early Sunday Morning, December 9, 2018, at Southeast Health, in Dothan, Ala. A graveside service with military rites will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery with Pastor Bobby Smith officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Mr. Swords was born, June 18, 1955, in Edison, Ga., to the late Clyde Carroll Swords and Mary Bell Gore Swords. He was a member of Arlington Baptist Church and he drove a truck for SAIA Freight Lines. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam during the war.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Tonia Swords and one son, Bobby G. Swords, Jr. His survivors include his wife, Lou Swords, two daughters; Amanda Mathis (Michael) of Bainbridge, Ga., Theresa Chambliss of Bainbridge, two sons; James White (Beth) Marianna, Fla., Craig White, Montgomery, Ala. He is survived by two brothers; Carroll Swords, Ft. Gaines, Ga. and James Robbin Swords (Lori) of Edison, Ga. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
