Samantha Blocker Hurst, 51, passed away peacefully at her home, November 26, 2018. The service will be Saturday, December 1, 2018, 10 a.m. at Franklin Baptist Church, with burial at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time at the church..

Samantha was born in Donaldsonville, Ga., and was raised in the Bettstown Community and in Bainbridge, Ga. She graduated from Bainbridge High School. She went to work right out of high school in several different positions and her latest employment was with the State of Florida, Division of Forestry in Tallahassee.

Samanthe is survived by her aunts; Lois Gainey, Marilyn Blocker, and Jo Pitman all of Bainbridge; her uncle; Jeffery Blocker of Grady, Ala., and a host of cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother; Joan Chase, her grandparents, Cleveland and Hortense Blocker, uncles; Danny and Kenneth Blocker.
