Ella Smith Bullock, 88, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Monday, November 12, 2018.

The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating. Interment followed at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Larry Funderburke, Gerald Franklin, Roy Simpson, Richard Trawick, Shane Davis, Joe Adams and Ronnie Turner serving as active pallbearers.

Willie Ella Smith was born January 24, 1930, in Elba, Ala, the daughter of Grover Cleveland Smith and Kittie Simmons Smith. She was a graduate of Elba High School, Class of 1945. She met and married Roy James Bullock and they made their home in Bainbridge. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.

“Miss” Ella loved people and made no bones about it. She had friends far and near of all ages. Her family, her church family and her beverage store friends were in her close circle and could testify that “Miss” Ella didn’t mince words. She spent her days caring for Randy and “looking after” everyone else.

Survivors include her children, Randy Bullock of Bainbridge and Judy & Roger Davis of Huntsville, Ala.; her grandchildren, Dr. Shane Davis, Shawn Davis Adams and William Rimes, Sr.; her great-grandchildren, Sam Davis, Davis Anne Adams, Joe Barber Adams IV, James Cameron Adams, Alan Jennings Adams, Harley Rimes and William Rimes, Jr.; and her brothers, Frank Smith of Whigham, Ga., Donald Smith of Mobile, Ala. and Grover Smith, also of Mobile. In addition to her parents, Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Roy J. Bullock; her son, Alan Bullock; and her siblings, Wayne Smith, Nell Arnold and Erma Geiger.
