Eighth grade basketball starts strong with 57-12 win

The Boys’ 8th grade basketball team opened its 2018-2019 season on Wednesday evening against the Washington Middle School Tigers from Cairo.
The Bearcats came away with a dominating victory with a final score of 57-12.
“Every player gave a great effort on defense. It was our first game so were a little rusty offensively, but defense was the difference.”
KJ Cochran led all scorers with 26 points.
Dontavious Broadnax had 7 points, Ahmari Borden had 6 points, Amarion Ford had 4, Jafus Ferguson scored 3, Janerious Jackson scored 3, Tevon Moore had 2, TyShawn Gallowa had 2, Jah’Marion Smith had 2 and Jaedrin Miller had 2.
The BMS 7th grade and 8th grade teams will host a double header Saturday against the Colquitt County Packers at the Bainbridge High School Gym. Tickets are five dollars and concessions will be available.
