Ronald Paul “Ronnie” Ragan, 63, of Cairo, Ga., formerly of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away at his home in Cairo, Ga., on Monday, October 15, 2018. The family will have a private memorial service at a later time.
Mr. Ragan was born on March 15, 1955, in Wurzburg, Germany, to the late Paul W. Ragan and Sarah Jones Ragan. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School. On March 23, 1986, he married Deborah Triston Ragan, who survives. He was a boiler maker with Cleaver-Brooks of Thomasville, Ga. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bainbridge. Ronnie and Debbie were mom and dad to their 18 exchange students from around the world. They even traveled twice to Europe, the last time to watch their Italian daughter get married.
Survivors include: his wife of 32 years, Deborah L. Ragan of Savannah, Ga.; children, his international family of 18 very much-loved kids; sister, Debbie R. Jones (Dale) of Lizella, Ga.; brothers, Darrell Chatraw (Margaret) of Milton, Fla., Van Chatraw (Debra) of Madison, Ala.; and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; and his step-mother, Sarah Brinson Ragan.
