The Bainbridge High School Air Force JROTC hosted their annual drill meet on September 22, 2018.  The meet consisted of teams from Thomasville City High School (Air Force), Cairo High School (Navy), Bainbridge High School (Air Force), and 2 teams from Lowndes County High School (Air Force).

The teams competed in Unarmed Inspection, Unarmed Regulation, Armed Regulation, and Armed Color Guard.

Each team competed at their best and it was evident in the scores the teams earned.  The scores in all four events were extremely close.  However, Bainbridge High School took the lead and earned the Drill Meet “Overall Winner.”  Lieutenant Colonel David Stewart, Bainbridge High School’s Senior Aerospace Science Instructor, stated “This team is a very young team.  In years past, we have had about half of the team in their senior-year of High School.

However, this year, we only have 1 senior on the team.  For all our Drill Team Commanders, this was their first drill meet they had the opportunity to lead their respective teams.  They all have worked extremely hard and their efforts really paid off.  The entire team did a great job and we look forward to seeing how they compete at our next drill meet in Tifton, Georgia in November.

Bainbridge High School Air Force JROTC earned the following awards:

Drill Meet “Overall Winner”

Unarmed Regulation – 1st Place

Armed Regulation – 1st Place and Outstanding Commander (Cadet Logan Spooner)

Armed Color Guard – 1st Place and Outstanding Commander (Cadet Cassie Roland)

Unarmed Inspection – 2nd Place
