Dr. Charles Wayne Buie

Dr. Charles Wayne Buie, 74, of Dublin, Ga., passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018, after a bravely fought battle with cancer. Dr. Buie was born on October 7, 1943, in Bainbridge (Decatur County), Georgia and was a psychologist at the VA Medical Center in Dublin for many years before his retirement. He was an avid gardener and was known for his varieties of tomatoes, peppers, and peas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Larson Buie, and his parents, Ruby Hall and Mack Buie of Bainbridge, and Rudy Terry of Indianapolis, Indiana.  Survivors include his three children, Chandler Buie (Nicole) of Longview, Texas; Chuck (Rhonda) Buie of Savannah; and Charla Buie (Nitin) Sathe of Alexandria, Virginia. Wayne had 5 grandchildren, Jack and Grace Buie of Texas, Chas and Beau Buie of Savannah, and Larson Sathe of Alexandria, Va.. He was also survived by a brother, Johnny Buie, of Gainesville, Georgia, and a sister, Georgia Terry Roll of Pittsboro, Indiana, as well as several beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family would also like to thank Gloria Smith for being a wonderful friend and caregiver to both of their parents and the family.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home in Dublin, Ga.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pancreatic Action Network, pancan.org. Please visit www.townsendfuneralhome.com to sign the online memorial registry.
