S. Ladon Odom

S. Ladon Odom, 56, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018.

The funeral service will be held at 11: a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stanley Phillips officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery with Todd McMillan, Jimmy Davis, Roy Davis, Sammy Sapp, Hal Davis, Robert Rollins and Robbie Sapp serving as active pallbearers.

Starling Ladon Odom was born December 23, 1961, in Donalsonville, Ga., the son of Starling and Josephine Brockett Odom. Ladon married Janet M. Davis in 1995 and they made their home in Bainbridge. He was a truck driver until his retirement and a member of The Potter’s House.

Ladon was a “people person”. He loved to help others even if it was just making them smile with his sidebar antics. No one held a light to his grandchildren. Ladon enjoyed riding them on the golf cart, taking them fishing and most anything else they wanted to do. He had a soft spot for animals especially dogs. Heaven on Earth for Ladon was Spring Creek.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Janet D. Odom; his children, Tenesha Richardson and her husband, Tony, of Donalsonville, Ga., Terrell Odom and his wife, Jamie, of Moultrie, Ga., Ferrell Odom of Panama City, Fla., Roger Trawick and his wife, Amanda, of Midway, Ala. and Todd Trawick and his wife, Vanessa, of Iron City, Ga.; his mother, Josephine Brockett Odom; his siblings, Patsy Rentz & Mark Parish of Bainbridge, Alicia Cone and her husband, Rusty, of Attapulgus, Ga., Teresa Jordan and her husband, Chris, of Bainbridge, and Martha Avery, also of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Leigha, Lacey, Breanna, Brock, Skyler, Andlee, Jordon, Destiny, Haley, Dylan, Scott, Abby, Andree, Sage, Savannah and Samantha; and his great-grandchildren, Caelum and Graeysen.

Ladon was preceded in death by his father.
