Morningside Baptist Church is excited to announce Avery Chestnut has been named the new youth and children’s minister.
Chestnut was born and raised in Bainbridge and went on to further his education in Virginia. He was attending school to become a youth minister and working with a great group of young people when he felt a calling to turn that into a full time career.
Chestnut said he was feeling a tug at his heart to start asking questions about returning home to see if there were options to work with youth locally.
He was then hired by MBC. He said he quickly learned MBC had a great group of kids and leaders already and he wanted to build off of that.
He said he hopes to establish a culture in ministry and turn these kids into disciples of Jesus. He already has some great ideas that he plans to share when MBC’s annual Judgement House ends.
Chestnut said he is really excited about the opportunity he has and can’t wait to see what God does for him back home in the City of Bainbridge.
He said he knows there are still a ton of youth that still need to be reached and he invites them to come starting Sunday night at 5:30 for youth and kids discipleship. Youth is grades sixth through twelfth and kids range from Pre-k through fifth grade.
They additionally worship on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings.
