Patricia Ann Strickland Smith, 77, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away, Wednesday, September 12, 2018.

The graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 16, 2018, at Oak City Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Webb officiating. Pete Warren, Chris Cane, Rich Houston, Wayne Donalson and Keith Sandefur, Jr. will serve as active pallbearers.  Online visitors may sign the guest register at Memorial donations may be made to the Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society, 1250 Cox Avenue, Bainbridge, GA, 39819.

Patricia Ann Strickland Smith was born May 12, 1941, in Whigham, Ga. the daughter of George Strickland and Leola Glover Strickland. She was a Christian by faith.

Ann’s whole life revolved around her husband and children. All who knew her were drawn to her by her sweet, but no nonsense, gentle spirit. She loved cooking and baking and seeing others enjoy the fruits of her labor. Every weekday of her life, until the last few years, she would prepare a full meal for lunch. Her husband Oris would bring guests frequently from all walks of life, and there was always plenty for everyone.

Survivors include her sons, Lewis Smith of Bainbridge, and Greg Smith and his husband Kenny Harris of Atlanta, Ga; her daughters-in-law, Carla Wimberly and Anita Norris; her siblings, Jeola Frye, Marfa Donalson, and Tim Strickland; her nieces and special caregivers, Julie Houston and Carli Houston.  Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Oris I. “Smitty” Smith; her son, Matt Smith; her siblings, Sandra Houston, Frieda Sandefur, Don Strickland and Bubba Strickland.
