Lady Cats show no mercy against 7A Lady Packers in yet another win

The Bainbridge Lady Cats Varsity softball team has done it again. Pitcher Lexie Delbrey threw another shutout and led the team to an 8-0 victory against Colquitt County.

The Lady Cats came out strong in the second inning, scoring four runs and only continued their scoring in the fourth inning, scoring another four runs. The runs were a combination of singles hit by Mckynleigh Harrell, Makayla Hamilton and Halle Cannon. Abbey Gardner hit a fielder’s choice, which sealed Bainbridge’s victory.

Overall, the team collected eight hits throughout the game. Harrell and Mabry Grace Briggs both managed two hits to lead the team. Harrell also had the most chances in the field with 12. With the help of Harrell, the team didn’t commit a single error in the field.

Number 14 took the loss for Colquitt County. She went four innings, allowing eight runs on eight hits and striking out one.

Delbrey allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings. She struck out 12 and walked one.

The team will play Valdosta at home on Thursday at 5:30, where they hope to continue their winning streak.
