Lady Cats softball gets region win, remains undefeated

After a rained out game against Worth County and Colquitt County, Bainbridge Lady Cats Varsity softball team took the field and defeated Harris County on Thursday night 3-1.

Both teams came out strong, with Harris County scoring the first run in the sixth inning. The Lady Cats refused to give up their winning streak, and scored three runs in the seventh coming out on top.

Mckynleigh Harrell scored one home run, while Desirae Beachem, Mabry Grace Briggs and Makayla Hamilton all managed multiple hits to lead the team.

Lexie Delbrey was the winning pitcher for team, allowing only three hits to Harris County. She surrendered one run over seven innings and struck out 15, walking zero.

Z Willis took the loss for Harris County. She surrendered two runs on eight hits over six and a third innings. She struck out 10 and walked one. However, Willis went on to lead her team in hits, going 2-for-three at the plates.

Harris County played hard and didn’t commit a single error in the field. Key player, T Middleton made the most saves in the field with 11 chances.

Before their win against Harris County, the Lady Cats were defeating Colquitt County on Wednesday 1-0. However, the game was unfinished due to the weather. They were also unable to finish their tied game against Worth County on Tuesday afternoon.
