William G. “Bill” Hatcher, Sr., 66, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

William Guy Hatcher was born October 2, 1951, in Bainbridge, Ga., the son of Guy V. Hatcher and Elizabeth Cleveland Hatcher. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1969. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of First Christian Church.

Family was the foundation for life according to Bill. He spent many years working at Long’s Produce where he treated others as family and developed lasting friendships. He enjoyed reading when he wasn’t working and kept current on the events of the day. Bill adored his grandchildren. He has been described as “loving anything sweet”. Bill would say there is nothing sweeter than his grands.

Survivors include his son, Billy Hatcher and his wife, Brandi, of Bainbridge; his sister, Susan Carey, also of Bainbridge; and his grandchildren, Alex Hatcher and Bryce Hatcher. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Beth Hatcher.
