BMS teams shutout Tift County

The 8th grade football team made the long trip to Tifton Thursday to face the Blue devils. With a physical effort, the 8th grade team came away with a 14-0 victory.

Both of the Bearcats scoring drives were set up by good deep passes from quarterback Bo Smith to wide out Malik Anderson. The play of the game came from a one hand diving catch from Malik . 

The first touchdown came on a quarterback keep from Bo Smith. Running back Dante Briadnax scored the two point conversion to make it 8-0.

The second scoring drive came on a drive with a long run from Dante Broadnax. Fullback Tevon Moore scored the touchdown with a tough run off tackle.

Coach Maxwell commented after the game on how much more physical his team was and how they were in better condition than expected early in the season.

He was also pleased with the tough play from the entire defense.

The 7th grade team played in the second game and came away with a 12-0 victory.

Both scoring drives were set up by a trio of young running backs. The seventh grade defense played particularly well against a much bigger opponent and shut them out.

Both the 7th and 8th grade teams will play Cairo next week. The 8th grade travels to Cairo on Wednesday and the 7th grade will host Cairo at  centennial field on Thursday.
