Failure to stop leaves driver injured

Wednesday afternoon an accident occurred at the intersection of Whigham Dairy Road and Old Whigham Road that resulted in one driver being sent to the hospital.

Tracy Wilson was traveling south on Whigham Dairy Road, approaching the stop sign at the intersection of the two roads, while Debbie Francisco was traveling east.

Wilson failed to stop at the stop sign and struck Francisco’s vehicle on the left side. The impact forced Francisco’s vehicle into the east ditch of Whigham Dairy where it came to a final stop and rested facing north.

Wilson’s vehicle continued to travel south through the intersection and struck Dannie Mullis’s vehicle with the front of Francisco’s car. Mullis was stopped at the stop sign prior to the accident.

Wilson had to be taken to Bainbridge Hospital by South Georgia EMS, however all other passengers and drivers were uninjured in the event.

Georgia State Patrol, Decatur County Sheriff’s Office and Decatur County Fire and Rescue were all on the scene assisting.
