Nadine Hunt Dennis, 90, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018.
A private graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Royce Horne officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Willow Ridge, 801 Faceville Highway, Bainbridge, GA 39819.
Nadine Hunt was born December 5, 1927, in Bainbridge, Ga., the daughter of Zim H. Hunt and Mary Louise Strickland Hunt. She was a graduate of Climax High School, Class of 1945, and the Perry School of Business. She was married to Miles E. Dennis, Jr., who preceded her in death. Nadine worked as a bookkeeper for Lane’s Pharmacy. She was a founding member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Climax but also involved at Bellview Free Will Baptist Church in Colquitt.
Nadine was a kind-hearted woman with a sweet spirit. Her children describe her as the “perfect mom”. She was a meticulous woman who served as the air traffic controller of the Dennis Household. She was a woman of integrity and a great friend to many. Nadine enjoyed cooking and was the Queen of Lemon Pies.
Survivors include her children, Jill Dennis Brown and her husband, Don, of Colquitt, Ga. and Miles Hunt Dennis and his wife, Jill, of Thomasville, Ga.; her sisters, Mary Johnson of Thomasville and Rebecca Logue of Tallahassee; her grandchildren, Emily Brown, Lindsey Brown Chambless and her husband, Brian, Jacob Dennis and Julianne Dennis; and her great-grandson, Colton. In addition to her parents and her husband, Nadine was preceded in death by two infant brothers.
