Janice Elaine Boyd Jarrell

Janice Elaine Boyd Jarrell, 75, of Moultrie, Ga., died Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at her home.

Graveside rites were held 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Hugh Ward officiating.

Born December 9, 1942, in Bainbridge, she was the daughter of the late Claude Boyd and Margaret D. Boyd. Mrs. Jarrell retired from the Georgia Pardons and Paroles office and was a member of Northside Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Marvin Jarrell; son Buddy Jarrell.

Survivors include her children, Phyllis Brown of Doerun, Ga.., Gale Whited and Jim of Kokomo, Ind. and Melissa Hurst and Thomas of Doerun; grandchildren, Diane Herndon and Lewis, Ricky Murphy and Marnie, Jerry Smith Jr. and Michele, Mitchell Murphy, Elaine Hurst Powell and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Chet Murphy, Devin Smith, Mallory Herndon, J.W. Smith, John Melvin Herndon, Christian Murphy and Iverson Powell; great-great-grandchild, Xara Murphy; brother, Edwin Boyd and Bernice of Bainbridge; several nieces and nephews and other family members.
