The Harvest House of Hope, a faith-based residential recovery home for women, hit a hole-in-one with its inaugural golf tournament fundraiser last weekend at Crooked Oak Golf Club in Colquitt.

Located in northern Decatur County, the Harvest House of Hope is a non-profit, long-term home that provides a place for women to become productive members of their families and communities. Money raised by the golf tournament will go straight toward operating the Harvest House of Hope.

“We exceeded our goal,” said board member Cissie Franklin.

The tournament format was a four-person scramble. The first place team included Lance Lane, Billy Lane, Sutton Reece and Will Merrit, who won a $400 cash prize. In second place was the team of Mark Cleveland, Garrett Vann, Tripp Bridges and Greg Calhoun.

Stuart Stanford was awarded for having the longest drive of the tournament, and Lance Eubanks was awarded for hitting closest to the pin. There was a $10,000 prize for a player who hit a hole-in-one, but nobody was able to. All players who participated were eligible for raffle prizes, goody bags and door prizes.

Franklin said they were already looking forward to next year’s tournament.
