Gary Edward Larson, 71, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Gary Edward Larson was born December 29, 1946, in Kingsford, Mich., the son of Charles Edward Larson and Teresa Fillion Larson. Gary lived the last 40+ years in Decatur County where he and his wife, Opal Clinton Larson, made their home. He retired from Decatur County Road Department. Gary was a Christian by faith.

Described as a devoted man with a big heart, no one would argue that his grandchildren brought him the most joy. He enjoyed doing what he could for them, never asking for anything in return. Gary was a hard worker and yet always willing to give away whatever he felt was needed to help someone else. Cupcake and T-Bone, Gary’s dogs, were his constant companions and enjoyed many adventures through the years.

Survivors include his seven stepchildren; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Michael Larson and Carol Larson, both of Michigan. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Clinton Larson; and his siblings, Bernidine Larson and Linda Larson.
