Mr. Winfred Bernard Lobe, 75, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Nelson Chapel A.M.E. Church. Interment will follow at Jonas Lobe Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 13, 2018, at Bruton Mortuary.

Mr. Lobe was born November 1, 1942, to the late Jonas Lobe Jr. and Margaret Miles Lobe. He was married to Virginia Walker Lobe and to this union three children were born.

At an early age he joined Nelson Chapel A.M.E.Church. He served as a church musician for the junior and senior choirs. He was a member of the Trustee Board and the music director of the South Georgia Conference for the Sons of Allen. He also served as a musician for Live Oak A.M.E. Church in Donalsonville, Ga.

He received his high school diploma from Hutto High School, Bainbridge, Ga., in 1960. He attended Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Fla. There he obtained a BS degree in choral music, an MA degree in Administration and Supervision, and a certificate in Drivers Education.

Mr. Lobe taught music, drivers education and ISS in the Decatur County School system.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Virginia Lobe; sons, Michael and Morris Lobe of Bainbridge; daughter Felicia (Matthew) Hardwick of Albany, Ga.; sister Nerissa Lobe Hackett of Dover, Delaware; grandchildren, Travious Lobe of Bainbridge, Alexis Lobe of Oahu, Hawaii, Skyy and KiMorri Lobe of Savannah, Ga.,

Jonas Lobe of Orlando, Fla. and Layla Williams of Albany; sister-in-law, Sarah Williams of Tacoma, Wash.; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bruton Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
