Mildred Green Brock, 88, of Lee County, Ga. died July 2, 2018. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Brock Cemetery in Decatur County, Ga..  Pastor Gerry Dorre’ and Rev. Norman Denney will officiate.  Mrs. Brock was born in Bainbridge, Ga., on October 2, 1929. She later became a permanent resident of Lee County, where she and her husband lived for many years on Fussell Road.  Mrs. Brock was a very talented seamstress, who was once employed with the Manhattan Shirt Company and then later retired from Freitex, after over twenty years of service.  Mrs. Brock was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church and at one time a very active member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Mrs. Brock not only enjoyed sewing, but also enjoyed both crocheting and knitting. She also enjoyed cooking and making sure everyone at the table was more than full after a meal. She loved to read and also loved to spoil her granddaughters and her great-grandchildren very much. She was preceded in death by her husband, Corbin Cecil Brock, a brother, Eugene Green, and a sister, Sarah Richardson. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia (Vertis) Marchant of Lee County, Ga., two brothers, R.L. Green and Charles (Rita) Green all of Attapulgus, Ga., one sister, Louise (Al) Hecht of Jacksonville, Fla., her grandchildren, Kendell (Craig) Treusdell of Midland, Ga., Kristy (Matt) Powell of Lee County, and four great-grandchildren, Jared and Nicole Truesdell and Ethan and Eli Powell.The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home in Albany.
