Thursday night BPS responded to a fight at the Days Inn, where more than 80 packaged bags of drugs were seized.

Officer Christopher Prindle responded to the scene and discovered Eric Myrick suffering a possible drug overdose after smoking spice. Prindle called for backup and Officer Jamie Marshburn helped him investigate the scene.

Marshburn and Prindle entered the room where Myrick was staying and estimated $1,000 worth of damages from Myrick ripping curtains and mirrors off the wall. Marshburn and Prindle continued to search the room and came across several clear zip top baggies that are commonly used for the sell or distribution of drugs. The baggies found contained marijuana and “spice” before finding a commercial plastic shopping bag filled with baggies of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine.

In total, officers found 33 individual packages of spice, 42 individually packaged baggies of marijuana and six baggies containing residual amounts of cocaine. They also found an unpackaged amount of suspected marijuana in Mryick’s wife, Laytoya’s personal belongings.

Latyoya confided in officers that she was aware her husband had spice and was packaging it inside the room, but he had thrown a chair at her and ripped off the curtain rod, threating to kill her, while swinging it at her.

Both Eric and Latoya were booked on the felony charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession, sale, manufacture or distribution of marijuana.
