While the first day of camp may have been rained out, Bainbridge tennis slip n’ serve tennis camp is now in full swing.

Kids have been split up into various age groups and are learning the game of tennis, while playing games and completing tennis drills. Although the game can be serious at times, all the campers have seen the fun side.

They have been enjoying eating snacks, playing with water balloons and sliding down the slip n’ slide in the afternoon. Some of their favorite time at camp comes from smashing the water balloons and putting ice in the blow up pool to play in.

When it isn’t time for the water activities, the kids still find a way to pretend it is. They use their water cone cups to pour on themselves and drink their water cups in a “special tennis way,” which includes putting in the center of their racket and drinking it out of there.

The older students enjoy the water activities as well, but Abigail Trammell, 10, said her favorite part of camp has been the obstacle course. She said they go through a jump rope course and run through a maze of cones along with other tennis related challenges.

Kids will have another opportunity to enjoy slip n’ serve camp in July. Camp will be held July 16-19 at the Bill Reynolds Tennis Center and host another fun week of activities for all ages to participate in.
