Marlyn Anne LaPointe was born November 26, 1935 in Burlington, Vermont, the daughter of Earl and Tresa LaPointe. She graduated from high school and married Victor Alphee Morin. She came to Bainbridge from Louisiana 56 years ago. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Marlyn worked at Dickies, ITT-Thompson and retired as a Divisional Manager for Belk Department Stores.

Social to say the least, Marlyn never met a stranger. She spent years working in retail and found fulfillment in helping “her customers”. Marlyn volunteered many hours at Memorial Hospital where she met each person with a smile. She enjoyed walking and working in her flower garden on her days off. Marlyn was an excellent cook with shrimp casserole being her specialty.

Survivors include her children, Vicki Grubbs of Eldorendo, Mark Morin and Polly Probert and her husband, Michael, all of Bainbridge; her grandchildren, Meghan, Ryan, Joe , David and Jordan; her sister Beverly LaPointe of Vermont; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Marlyn was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Morin.
