Eric Worthington would appreciate your vote for the Decatur County Board of Education, District 6 seat.
Worthington was born and raised in Decatur County. He graduated with honors from Bainbridge High School in 1994. Soon after graduation, he started working for the family business, Worthington Auto, where he still works to this day with his father and mother, Patsy and Ronald Worthington.
When not at work you can find Worthington spending time with his family, helping his boys with homework, coaching kids on the baseball field, at a band concert or helping in the concessions as a band parent. He values family, friends and community. He and his wife are currently trained parent volunteers for both HMS and BHS. He believes a great education can provide great opportunities.
Worthington’s wife, Tina, is an administrative assistant at ABAC- at Bainbridge. She also helped to reestablish the WBE PTO, where she was awarded the Parent Volunteer of the year. He has two sons Carter and Cain Worthington.
Carter is currently a BHS freshman, who is an active member of the BHS Marching BAND and Symphonic Band. Cain is currently a sixth grader at HMS, who loves baseball and Archery. Both boys are academically successful and participants of the gifted and honors programs. As a parent Eric stresses the importance of an education and as your Board member plans to put students first, and by doing this he plans to make sure the teachers in the school system have the appropriate technology and resources needed to challenge these students.
Mr. Worthington would also like to see the safety of our schools be a top priority. He said he would be your honest and reliable voice for DCBOE.
