The Kiwanis Club of Bainbridge is seeking nominations for the 2017-18 Decatur County Man of the Year. Presentation of the award will be made at the annual meeting of the Bainbridge/Decatur County Chamber of Commerce in June.

Any adult male, 18 years or older, may be nominated by someone familiar with his efforts to contribute significant time, energy and spirit in fields outside his professional life without regard for personal gain.

He must be a man who’s civic and community service goes beyond “normal” responsibilities, creating a lasting and beneficial impact for all residents.

He must have actively participated in service, community, church or other organizations, and his activities must have been completed in the previous calendar year.

Members of the Kiwanis Club are not eligible, nor are previous winners of the award, although previously nominated ones may be reconsidered if activities are current.

Those wishing to nominate an individual should contact a Kiwanis Club member for a copy of the rules and a nomination form. Submissions in the form of a letter will no longer be accepted.

Nomination forms may be submitted by mail to Kiwanis Club of Bainbridge, P.O. Box 401, Bainbridge GA 39818, by email or dropped off at the Chamber of Commerce.  Upon submission of the appropriate form, the committee will contact the nominee to determine if he objects to or agrees to the nomination. Submissions that have been reviewed and approved will then be submitted to the Kiwanis Club members to vote on the nominees.

All nominees will be recognized at a regular meeting of the Kiwanis, but only the winner will be invited to the Chamber Awards meeting.
