Daylily Society to hold annual exhibition and plant sale in May

On Saturday, May 19, the Southwest Georgia Daylily Society will hold its annual exhibit and plant sale at the Donalsonville Lions Club Hall, 100 North Wiley Avenue.

Entries will be accepted beginning at 8 a.m. and no entries will be accepted after 10:30 a.m. Judging will begin at 11 a.m.

The event is open to the public and there will be plant sales beginning at 9 a.m. through 2 p.m., or until all daylilies are sold out. The plant sales will be held on the grounds of the Lions Club Hall and plants will sell for $6 per double fan. Only cash will be accepted.

Some of the registered names of a few of those to be sold are: Curious George, Carol Acquista, Siloam Double Classic, Candy Corn, Cherokee Pass, Flore Pleno, Jedi Codie Wedgeworth. Jennifer Marie, Morrell Martin, Pink Ambrosia, Red Squirrel, Regal Finale, Hoochie Coochie Man, Denali, Hush Little Baby, Zoe’s Blume and many more. All of the daylilies are in short supply and buyers are encouraged to come early to get the ones they want.
