Buddy earned degrees from Bainbridge State College and Georgia Southern University. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and in the Georgia National Guard. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Buddy retired from the United States Postal Service. He never met a stranger and many will recall him asking about family, telling a joke or updating folks on his favorite team scores all the while handling their mail needs. He loved FSU sports, golfing, and bowling. Buddy was a history junkie. He was known to be a “snacker” and always had a little something salty around.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Sandi Davis; his son, Andy Davis and his wife, Melodee, of Avon Park, Fla.; his siblings Sheila Hester, Glen & Tonda Davis, Tommy & Patti McGalliard, and Vandy & Diane Davis; several nieces and nephews; and his 5 four-legged children. Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Davis, Jr., Betty Davis McGalliard and Robert McGalliard III.
