Lady Cats soccer drops games to Dothan, Thomas County Central

In recent soccer action the Bainbridge High School varsity Lady Cat soccer team dropped two games by the scores of 2-1 to Dothan high School in Dothan and 7-0 to Thomas County at Centennial field last Thursday.

At Dothan, the hosts scored the first goal of the contest, in the 21st minutes, as a Lady Tiger shot was deflected quickly recovered and sent to the center of the Bainbridge Penalty area for a 12 yard scoring shot to give Dothan a 1-0 lead.

Bainbridge tied the score with 10 mnutes remaining in the first half, as Lady Bearcat Sophomore Midfielder Jamya Brinson lofted a corner kick from the right side that the Dothan Goal Keeper could not handle cleanly and as a result bounced past the line for a Bainbridge goal.

Both teams attacked throughout the second half twith Bainbridge having most of the chances, but unfortunately the Lady Cats could not get a clean strike into the goal.

With 8 minutes remaining in the contest a Lady Tigers forward got free on a breakaway and scored the game winner from 10 yards out. On the play Bainbridge Freshman Goalkeeper Keiya Pryor charged the forward and just narrowly missed out on a diving save. 

In the Thomas County matchup, the Lady Yellowjackets scored three first half goals in route to the victory. Bainbridge gave a determined effort, but Thomas County was able to work their way for the victory.

Despite the goals Pryor for Bainbridge gave a great effort with 11 saves.

Bainbridge resumes action on April 13 as they host Warner Robins in a region contest.
