At approximately 4:49 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, Bainbridge Public Safety officers were dispatched to Sims Street in reference to a shooting.

Officers Joshua Glover and Ronald McMillan were the first to arrive on scene, where McMillan located a vehicle with bullet holes. Glover made contact with apartment tenant, Tiwannah Jones, who informed him she believed the suspect was shooting at her son.

Her son, Jailyn Thomas had been arguing with Mike Jones, also known as β€œman man.” Thomas had been arguing because Jones had disrespected his mother and wanted to take up for her, according to reports. During the argument, Jones yelled out the name, Kawaii. Moments later, Kawaii Marquis Fountain, appeared from behind the apartment building holding a silver pistol.

Witnesses stated he fired four shots and then took off running. One of the bullets hit a man who was not involved in the altercation. He was treated at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital for a bullet wound in his leg. In addition to that, a vehicle traveling east on Broughton Street was hit in the rear passenger door, but no injuries were reported.

Warrants have been obtained for Fountain on multiple counts of aggravated assault. Investigators are attempting to locate Fountain. Michael Alfonzo Jones is also wanted for questioning. If anyone has any information about their whereabouts, please contact Chris Avery at 229-726-4727.
