Sally A. Bloom, 79, of Colquitt County, Ga., died Monday, March 12, 2018, at Evergreen Assisted Living Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church in Norman Park, Ga.. Pastor John Myrick will officiate. Interment will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Climax, Ga.

A native of Climax, Ga., Mrs. Bloom was born to the late Remer and Jewel Allen.  She graduated from Climax High School and moved to Albany, Ga. in 1960.  She owned and operated Lemstone Book Store for ten years and served as Senior Manager of Government and Community Affairs for Mediacom before her retirement.  Mrs. Bloom was a member of the Albany Rotary Club and was active in the American Heart Association and Habitat for Humanity.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Bloom, her siblings, Bobby Allen, Frank Allen and Thelma Raybon.  Survivors include her son, Jimbo Adams of Lee County, Ga. and Lindi Adams of Worth County, Ga; her grandchildren, Alyson Adams and Abby Adams; two step-children, James Nicholas Bloom (Brenda) of Valdosta, Ga. and Jody Bloom of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Clara Kerrey and Mary Carrington both of Albany, and her caretakers, Johnny Staley, Willie Mae Parrish, Shontika Blackwell and Demerieyah Blackwell.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mathews Funeral Home.
