Bearcats, Lady Cats place third at Bearcat Invitational

Both the Bearcats and Lady Cats competed and placed third in the Larry Clark Invitational at Bainbridge High School last Saturday.

Bainbridge athletes that were awarded points or medals included: Amaia Taylor, Uriyah Davis, Camry Fillingame, Brenna Frazier, Destiny Turner, Zyon McGee, Roman Harrison, Iran Brown, Caleb McDowell and TJ Mims. The top performers for this meet were, Jaylyn Scott, Destiny Turner, Caleb McDowell, Zyon McGee, TJ Mims, Hayden Griffin and Viviana Schuyler.

The 4-by-100 team of Javon Mimms, Jalyn Scott, Zyon McGee and Caleb McDowell placed first with a time of 43.15. The 4-by-400 team of Derrick Smart, Caleb McDowell, Zyon McGee and Jaylyn Scott placed second with a time of 3:29.87.

Roman Harrison placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 127-feet-6-inches and fourth in the shot put with a toss of 43-feet-2-inches. Iran Brown had a discus toss of 113-feet-3-inches for seventh place and a shot put throw of 43-feet-2-inches for fifth place.

Viviana Schuyler ran the 1600-meter in a time of 5:49.91 and placed second. Destiny Turner places second in the high jumped with a leap of 4-feet-10-inches and also placed second in the triple jump with a jump of 32 feet.

The freshmen and sophomores from the Bainbridge track and field will compete at Chiles High School in Tallahassee, Florida, on Thursday.
