Cougars heading to state semis after win over Alleluia

The Grace Christian Academy Cougars beat Alleluia Community School Saturday night in the State Quarterfinal round, putting the team in the Final Four for the first time in almost eight years.
The boys won 58-47 with Jaylen Jones leading the pack, scoring 30 points.
GCA lead throughout the entire game, scoring 16 points in the first period, while Alleluia scored 10 points. GCA continued to lead in period two, when they scored 18 points and Alleluia scored 17. Alleluia came back after half time and scored the same amount as GCA in period three. They both scored six points, but GCA still outshot them in period four, scoring 18 points and Alleluia only scoring 14.
Jones was on fire Saturday night, scoring 12 two-pointers, one three-pointers and going three-for-five at the free throw line. Jones also had five defensive rebounds and one steal.
Sam McRae had a great game as well, scoring 21 points for the team. He scored four two-pointers and three three-pointers.
He went four-for-seven at the free throw line and had six defensive rebounds. He also made six steals, giving his team advantage of the ball.
De’Andre Rogers helped top off the win, with five points. He made one two-pointer and one three-pointer. He also made four defensive rebounds.
