Multiple police cars, ambulances, and rescue vehicles were on Spring Creek Road Friday night after a car accident took the life of one and left two with severe injuries.
Christy Simpson was traveling north with Lisa Miller on Highway 253 when she crossed over the centerline and collided head on with a 2012 Camero driven by Robert Thompson.
Thompson’s car continued to spin in a southern direction until it eventually stopped on the west side of Highway 253. Simpson’s vehicle also spun out of control, first continuing in its northern direction. The vehicle then spun southward and landed on the shoulder of the west side of the highway.
Simpson’s injuries were extensive. She was wearing a seatbelt, GSP Trooper Jeffrey Swanner confirmed.
The extent of Thompson’s injuries is currently unknown.
Troopers are investigating what caused Simpson to cross over the centerline.
