Kirbo Center to screen “Unchained”

Elephant Aid International (EAI) Founder and CEO Carol Buckley will be at the Kirbo Center in Bainbridge, GA. (on February 10, 2018) for a special screening of the documentary “UNCHAINED.”
“UNCHAINED” follows Buckley and the EAI team in their work to improve the lives of working elephants in Nepal. Using gentle persuasion and experiential learning, Buckley helps owners and mahouts (elephant handlers) adopt new, humane methods of training and handling their elephants.
The film has been enthusiastically received at a number of film festivals, around the world. It received the 2017 Golden Sun Award at the Barcelona International Environmental Film Festival (FICMA) and the 2017 Animal Award from the Cinema Verde Film Festival in Florida.
Buckley will answer audience questions after the screening.
Locally, EAI is building a new elephant retirement center, Elephant Refuge North America (ERNA), in Attapulgus, GA. Buckley also co-founded and led The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee for its first 15 years, attracting international attention for her innovative and holistic approach to elephant welfare in captivity.
the event starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Kirbo Center. Admission is $10. Proceeds from the screening will support EAI’s Elephant Refuge North America project in Attapulgus.
