Bill and Sheri Allen were welcomed into the Decatur County Lions Club following their induction by First Vice District Governor Georgia Taylor, on Tuesday, January 16, 2018.
Lions Bill and Sheri are looking forward to working with the club in its many and varied activities designed to help meet the needs of people in this community, and worldwide through Lions Clubs International.
Some of the objectives the Decatur County Lions Club achieved during the past year include: sponsored a BHS Senior in her Youth Service America project; donated to area disaster relief funds; developed a flower bed, held a Spring Fling Party and a fish fry for Bainbridge Health and Rehab; collected $320 for the Georgia Light House for the Blind during a White Cane Day at a local supermarket; donated 170 bears and other stuffed toys to the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office and the Bainbridge Public Safety Department during the annual “Buford’s Bears” project’; donated school supplies and rang the bells for the Salvation Army.
The majority of funding for club projects is raised through the sale of Boston Butts on the Friday before Memorial Day and the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
The Decatur County Lions Club members are justifiably proud of the accomplishments during the last year and look forward to achieving greater heights of service in 2018!
