Funeral services for Dorothy Kelly Maxwell, 81, of Pelham, Ga. (Grady County), were at 11 a.m., Friday, February 2, 2018, at Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church, Climax, Ga. Elder Thad Marshall officiated. Interment followed in the Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Maxwell passed away at Memorial Hospital & Manor in Bainbridge, Ga, on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Mrs. Maxwell was born on December 6, 1936, in Climax, to the late Melvin Thomas Kelly and Maggie Mae Yawn Kelly. On July 22, 1955, she married H. E. (Gene) Maxwell, who preceded her in death. She was a housewife and a member of Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include: daughters, Brenda Shephard (Jimmy) of Climax, Taresa Maxwell (Lamar) of Attapulgus, Ga., Kim King (Curtis) of Pelham; grandchildren, Susan Spehar (Joseph) of Hartselle, Ala., Kendrick Shephard (Amy) of Bainbridge, Hannah Eppes (Steven) of Valdosta, Ga., April Anderson (Joanthan) of Pelham, Brandi Lamb (Drew) of Pelham, Neal Hester (Amanda) of Pelham; Kevin Hester (Abbigail) of Pelham, Joseph Kelly of Climax, Jason King (Heather) of Bristol, Fla., Leah Wright (Adam) of Tallahassee, Fla., Aerial Haire (Dustin) of Tallahassee; great-grandchildren, Cameron Spehar, Gracie Spehar, Caitlin Shephard, John Shephard, J. D. Eppes, Max Eppes, Logan Epps, Nate Hester, Austin Hester, Gracie Hester, Lawson Hester, Wyatt Lamb, Jaxson Anderson, Jonathan Randall Anderson , Amber King, Michael King, Ava King, Eden King, Caleb Wright, Makayla Wright, Gracelynn Wright, Ashlynn Wright, Jayde Haire, Stella Haire; daughter-in-law, Thelma Maxwell of Pelham; brother, Paul Kelly (Juliet) of Climax; and brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Sarah Maxwell of Climax, Lynette Kelly of Climax.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; son, Randall Eugene Maxwell; sister, Francis Josey; and a brother, Edward Kelly.
