Betty Jean Weathersby was born November 3, 1933, in Bainbridge, the daughter of Elmer and Ada Knight Weathersby. She was a graduate of West Bainbridge High School and worked at Citizens Bank until her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Betty was vivacious and spunky. She took it upon herself to “keep everyone straight”. She kept her home, inside and out, impeccable. Betty took great pride in her flower beds and always wanted everything to be in order. She could roll a strike with her eyes closed and made the bowling lanes a fun place to be. Although her grandchildren brought her great joy, it was no secret that Betty lived for her boys.

Survivors include her sons, Roger Moore and his wife, Gwen, and Edward Moore and his wife, Jennifer, of Bainbridge; her sisters, Delores Shiver and her husband, Wayne, and Eleanor Darley and her husband, Gordon, all of Albany, Ga.; her grandchildren, Brooke, Bree, Corey, Shane, Addison and Miles; and her great-grandchildren, Kierstyn, Kenzi and Easton. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene W. Moore.
