Decorated in a classic, traditional style, the home and lawn of Steve and Marsha Black at 501 River Oaks Drive, comes to life with Christmas lights this season.

The Blacks have lived in the home since 2003, and have decorated each Christmas. Marsha said each year they add and modify the design a little. A special addition this year is a lit cross, symbolizing the spirit of keeping Christ in the Christmas Season.

Marsha said she decorates the porch and her husband is in charge of the lawn, where many of the trees are wrapped in white lights, while the bushes and a maypole design both have streamers of colored lights.

She said they begin stringing the lights the week after Thanksgiving and it takes about a week to put on the finishing touches.

Asked what the Christmas décor does for her, Marsha replied, “I love to just sit and look at the lights. I just get a feeling of peace out of it.”

Let the many lights of Christmas fill your hearts and minds with peace.
