The Bainbridge eighth grade and seventh grade Bearcats both took down the McIntyre Park Bulldogs last Wednesday.
The eighth graders won 49-23 and improved to 9-0 on the season.
Zion Bouie led the team with 13 points. Behind him was Javorian Breedlove with 8, Deyon Bouie with 7, Braxton Johnson with 8, Zacceus Chrispen with 6, Ty Finn with 4, Lathan Levens with 2 and Hayden McDonald with 1.
The team traveled to Cairo Tuesday to take on Washington Middle School on Tuesday and will finish its season at home on Wednesday against Thomas County Middle.
The seventh graders beat the Bulldogs 41-19 to finish their season.
Leading the scoring for the Bearcats was K.J. Cochran with 13 points, Vontrail Irving 8 points, Jafus Ferguson, Dontavius Broadnax and Henry Hill with 4 points each, Tyshawn Galloway, Ahmari Borden, and Amari Ford, with 2 points each, and Jadrin Miller and Tevon Moore rounded out the scoring with 1 point each.
“We set out to go undefeated this season, and we did,” said coach Patrick Clark. “This is a special group of athletes who understand the game of basketball as being a team sport can lead to winning when you trust in your teammates. They played team basketball all season and never stopped pressing the gas against their opponents.”
Clark said the team believed in themselves, just as much as they did realizing their goal could be achieved if they played as a team.
“I would like to thank the parents for allowing me the opportunity to coach their children,” Clark said. “Having parental support really motivated the boys to represent their school and parents in a positive way.”
