The Bainbridge Gymnast-a-Cats gymnastics team competed in Marietta at the Candy Kane Invitational. The Cats were on fire, winning first place team in level 1. Bronze xcel, silver xcel, gold xcel and platinum xcel for a clean sweep. Coaches Melynda Murkerson and Leslie Godwin are proud of their teams. This was the Cats’ first optional meet for the season and they only had four weeks to train for the optional excel competition.

Marbella Rich won first place on vault, uneven bars, balance beam and all-around. She placed second on floor. Her all-around score was 36.075.

Gabby Harde placed second on vault, bars and balance beam, and she placed first on floor, winning second place all-around with a score of 35.475.

Both Marbella and Gabby compete platinum xcel and both girls are student teachers at Murkerson’s Gymnastics Training Center.

The Level 1 team won first place. Anna Carnes got third on the vault, third on the bars, fourth on beam, fourth on floor and fourth all-around. Jaylah Florence got first on the vault, second on bars, second on beam, first on floor and second all around. Kaylee Kelsco got second on vault, first on bars, first on beam and first on floor and first all around. Beverly Smith got fifth on vault, fourth on bars, second on beam, third on floor and third all around. Colbie Whittaker received fourth on vault, fifth on bars, fifth on beam, fifth on floor and fifth all around.

On the Xcel bronze team, Emily Engram got fourth on vault, first on bars, first on beam, fourth on floor and second all around. Kara Overman got fifth on vault, first on bars, second on beam, third on floor and third overall. Aubry Phillips won first on vault, third on bars, third on beam, first on floor and first all around.

The silver xcel team had Anniston Brown going second on vault, third on bars, third on beam, first on floor and second all around. Dhara Patel went first on vault, first on bars, first on beam, fourth on floor and first all around. Anna Claire Mock received fourth on vault, fourth on bars, second on beam, second on floor and third all around. Beth Nunnery had fifth on vault, fourth on bars, second on beam, third on floor and fourth all around.

The xcel gold team was led by Bailey Nunnery with first on vault, third on bars, fourth on beam, first on floor and first all around. Ashna Vickers got third on vault, first on bars, third on beam, third on floor and second all around. Bansi Patel received second on vault, fourth on bars, second on bea,, second on floor and third al around. Lauren Godwin got fourth on vault, second on bars, first on bea, fourth on floor and fourth all around.
